Generalist & Demographic accelerators

Accelerators for Generalist & Demographic founders

This vertical collects generalist accelerators, most of them organized around who the founder is rather than what the company builds: programs for veterans and military spouses, women and nonbinary founders, Black and Latina founders, LGBTQ+ founders, and founders building outside the big startup hubs. The economics look different from a classic accelerator. Almost nothing here takes equity: gBETA, DivInc, StartOut Growth Lab, Military Founders Lab, and DAV Patriot Boot Camp are all free with no equity taken, and Black Ambition, Builders + Backers, and Founders First award non-dilutive prizes and grants. The tradeoff is that cash is rare and usually small; the real product is mentorship, community, and investor access. This category also churns more than most. Several once-prominent programs, including Ready Set Raise and Google's dedicated Black Founders accelerator, appear dormant, and we say so on their pages rather than listing stale terms. Every figure here is the program's own published number; where a program does not publish a figure, we say so instead of guessing.
