Hardware & Manufacturing accelerators
Accelerators for Hardware & Manufacturing founders
Hardware and manufacturing accelerators are few, and the six we track differ sharply in structure. HAX, SOSV's Newark residency, writes a $550,000 initial investment with hands-on engineering support, though its equity percentage is unpublished. mHUB in Chicago currently markets a $200,000 package for 6.5% equity across its energy, medtech, and sustainable manufacturing tracks, but its own pages describe the cash and in-kind breakdown inconsistently, and we disclose that rather than pick a number. AlphaLab Gear, the hardware track of Innovation Works' unified AlphaLab in Pittsburgh, invests up to $100,000 for a low-equity stake over six months. Two programs are non-dilutive: FORGE helps physical-product startups reach manufacturing with periodic product development grants and takes no equity, and the Centrepolis Accelerator in Southfield administers Michigan mobility prototyping grants of up to $100,000. The MassRobotics Accelerator paid robotics startups $100,000 with no equity taken, but it ran as a funded initiative through 2025 and no new cohort is announced, so its page carries an honest dormancy note.
What counts as a hardware accelerator here: any US program that helps startups building physical products move from prototype toward manufacturing, whether it invests for equity, writes non-dilutive grants, or provides engineering space and support. Every figure is the program's own published number; where a program does not publish a figure, we say so instead of guessing.

| AlphaLab Gear Trackhardware / physical products | up to $100,000 | Not publishedThe hardware (Gear) track of AlphaLab, the unified Innovation Works accelerator in Pittsburgh. Innovation Works invests up to $100,000 for a low-equity stake (the exact percentage is not published) across four tracks (Software, Gear, Health, and Robotics) that share one application and the same six-month, in-person structure. The 2027 cohort application window closed July 17, 2026, with the program starting in early 2027. The AlphaLab Health track is the life-science equivalent. | Equity for cash | PA | In person | None confirmed | Aug 26, 2026 | Verified |
| Centrepolis Acceleratorhardware / cleantech / mobility | administers Michigan mobility prototyping grants up to $100,000 | Not publishedA hardware scale-up accelerator at Lawrence Technological University and the City of Southfield, offering a 12-week hybrid Idea to Product HardTech program and administering Michigan's Make It in Michigan mobility prototyping grants of up to $100,000 per company. Program equity terms are not published; the administered grants are non-dilutive. The 2026 grant round ran May 13 to July 12, 2026. | Mixed | MI | Hybrid | None confirmed | Aug 26, 2026 | Verified |
| FORGEhardware / manufacturing | product development grants (recent Massachusetts round $3,000 to $50,000) | Not publishedA nonprofit that helps hardware and physical-product startups move from prototype to manufacturing through supplier-network support, education, and periodic non-dilutive product development grants. It is an ongoing support organization rather than a fixed cohort. A Fall 2026 Massachusetts grant round offers $3,000 to $50,000, and a Connecticut product development grant program also operates. No equity is taken. Sites include Somerville, Springfield, Lowell, and Beverly, Massachusetts, and New Haven, Connecticut. | Non-dilutive | MA | Hybrid | None confirmed | Aug 26, 2026 | Verified |
| HAXhard tech (energy, advanced compute, transportation, health tech, manufacturing, physical AI) | $550,000 initial investment | Not publishedSOSV's pre-seed hard-tech development program: $550K initial investment per startup, hands-on engineering support at 35,000 sq ft Newark HQ (plus HAX Plasma Forge facility in Princeton). Equity percentage not published on hax.co, so null. Applications via sosv.com/apply/hax/ on a rolling basis (no fixed cohort deadlines published), so next_deadline null and program_length null (residency model rather than fixed-week cohort). | Equity for cash | NJ | In person | None confirmed | Jul 22, 2026 | Verified |
